Week 2
CHAPTER 2:
IDEATION AND LITERATURE REVIEW
IDEATION AND LITERATURE REVIEW
Well hello, there fellow readers:) Good having you guys back here again with us. It's great knowing that the contents we post are compelling enough to lure you guys back to our blog for more in week 2.😁 Well, let's get started, shall we?
This weeks' lesson was mainly centered around the ability to generate ideas as it is, without doubt, one of the most important skills that a chemical engineer is deemed to have in his possession given the fact that they're bombarded with issues and problems around the chemical plant at all times. So the ability to generate ideas readily might come in handy when troubleshooting or when solving other chemical-related complications for the future to be chemical engineers.
As the first activity of the lesson, we were assigned to think of something that we find irritating right off the bat. We came up with what every sensible human being on planet earth would say in a heartbeat, MOSQUITOES!!! following fingerprints, wifi signals, and etc. The activity was basically a brief run-through on our ability to come up with something in a swift and prompt manner without having the need to think for a prolonged period of time and on a side note the whole activity was a great brain booster to fire up our half-awakened brains.
Next up, we were assigned to think of an idea that would make our lives easier. Mr. Ting showed some of the ideas that his previous students came up with as part of the capstone project and suggested some of his own. Upon getting a clearer perspective on what was expected from us the ideas start pouring in as we carefully evaluated each and every one of them. The ideas were funny and outrageous at the same time with the likes of a self-tightening belt, UV cleaners to remove bacterias from phones, homemade detergents using vinegar and sodium, recyclable cooking oil and etc. We then finalized recyclable cooking oil as our final idea with the mutual agreement from all four of us to avoid any form of contention when we're halfway through the assessment. We presented our final idea to Mr. Ting as he gave his verdict on the idea along with tips on how to proceed with the research hereafter.
We searched more about Rancidification as suggested by Mr. Ting and collected the relevant sources for further use. The final activity before the lesson concluded was to fill up the literature review template to record the sources used as references for our research. Before commencing with our final task of the lesson Mr. Ting gave a short brief on accessing the library resources for instance the past year's FYP projects, peer-reviewed journals, and educational video databases to assist with our research.
Walla! That's pretty much how things went down during week 2 of our lesson for ICPD. We're looking forward to the upcoming tasks and challenges that this module has in store for us regardless of the difficulties that we're left to put up with. As long as we stay as a team and band together we can ace this module with ease. LET'S GO AND GET IT TEAM💥
