Week 7

 Chapter 7

Product Development 1 - CADD

Welcome back to our blog. Glad you are still up and reading our blogs. Today we will be revisiting what we learned from the activities for this weeks blog. Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starting off before we start our lesson, we first have to install the app Autodesk Fusion 360 before entering class to get our grip on the app and play around with the software so we can get accustomed to it and speed through the lesson with ease.

Although for me i did not join the lesson from my previous knowledge on fusion 360 from my polytechnic foundation programme (pfp) module. My knowledge on this lesson will be on the activity me and teammates did so bear with us. The activity we had to do was make a key ring. We had to apply the techniques learnt from this lesson on making the key ring.

So we start off with the sketch of the key ring we are making. We use the sketch option draw our dimension of the ring, make a hole for the key ring, offset the ring to create an internal side of the ring and place a design on the tag in this case my name.

Next, we extrude the main area of the ring leaving the hole empty and not extruding the name.
Next, we cut the offset area by half the thickness of the outer ring.
Lastly, we extrude the name by half the thickness of the outer ring bringing the name to the same height of the outer ring. And tah da we finished the key ring.

Oh additionally we have an tutorial on the software on creating a photo frame. We split ourselves to each part of the frame with Amal doing the front of the frame, me doing the transparent frame screen, Willie doing the U frame and Dhvesh doing the back of the frame.

Alright that was fun, when jumping back to Fusion 360 I forgot how fun it was to design to items. It is also pretty fun helping others on the app as i already had this experience from pfp. Man can't wait to do 3D printing next lesson! That's all for today see ya!
